We have a system that has the potential to make it possible to put more people in housing than ever before.
INTRODUCTIONWorld Housing Inc. was established in 1982 to build and finance modular, panelized buildings for housing, offices, schools, and health clinics. After extensive testing by the Jamaican government, a contract was signed by the Ministry of Construction to build 6000 housing units. This contract was not implemented due to the government’s inability to acquire financing guarantees. Since that time World Housing Inc. continued to build housing, offices, hotel rooms, and vacation cottages in Jamaica. World Housing Inc. offers a unique cellular building concept that is designed for maximum flexibility. This unique cellular building concept makes it possible to add rooms like building blocks, as well as hallways, stairways, etc. in accordance with the owner’s preference. Our standard 12x14 foot modules are constructed of a heavy aluminum and steel frame, strong insulated energy saving panels that can withstand high impact, and hurricane force winds. Construction is simple and can be done with semi-skilled and unskilled labor. No heavy equipment or power tools are required. There is no component that cannot be lifted by two persons. Site preparation is minimal and the system configuration can be adapted to any cultural requirements. Basic shelter units, self sufficient units, Ranch, Two-Story, and Split-Level models are also available. These units can be constructed on or off the grid and can be equipped with stand alone sanitary units.
